Superdrug Naturally Radiant Range
A few products from the Superdrug Naturally Radiant range caught my eye whilst browsing in Superdrug a while back. Considering how reasonably priced all of the products are, it only seemed natural to try a few. The Superdrug Naturally Radiant range has some great, affordable alternatives to high end products such as their Glycolic Acid Daily Cleansing Pads which are a dupe for the Nip+Fab Glycolic Acid Pads which is why these particularly caught my attention. All of the items in the Superdrug Naturally Radiant collection are packaged very simply but beautifully and all of the products are under £6 which definitely makes them worth a shot. To make this deal a bit sweeter Superdrug often have these products on offer at Buy one get one free or half price, making them extremely affordable.
Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream
The Claims: “Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream is formulated with a naturally revitalising blend of ingredients and infused with Mulberry and Kiwi extracts to help brighten and smooth the eye area.”
The Facts: Ive been using this eye cream for around 2 months now and although I haven’t seen life changing results in my under eye circles I am mightily impressed. The reason I bought this eye cream is because I’ve been having a love/hate relationship with my concealer recently and I came to the conclusion that the issue wasn’t in fact the concealer but the lack of attention I was giving to my under eyes. There are certain beauty regimes that I admittedly skip and this is one of them. Well, no more! I’m a realist and since I paid £2.95 for this eye cream I didn’t expect miracles but then I don’t believe that any amount of money spent on a product for my under eyes would perform miracles. I have noticed that since using this brightening eye cream the skin under my eyes is more hydrated and my concealer sits a lot better without creasing or drying out. I’ve also noticed that they are slightly brighter and definitely more radiant. Again, nothing life changing but definitely a slight change. Overall, I will 100% continue to use this product. At £2.95 I feel that it delivers exceptionally well and if like me you are guilty of skipping the under eye treatments, then this might be a good place to start without over excessively splashing out.
Top Tip: I apply this product as soon as I get out of bed after washing my face. That gives it time to soak in whilst I eat my breakfast, leaving my eyes primed and ready to apply my makeup.
Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Acid Daily Cleansing Pads
The Claims: “Glycolic Acid Daily Cleansing Pads. 60 pads soaked in a specially developed blend of Glycolic Acid & fruit AHA’s. Help to remove dead cells from the surface of the skin leaving it fresher. With witch hazel to help tone the skin and added Aloe & Pro Vitamin B5.”
The Facts: I had been toying with the idea of purchasing the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads for a while, so I was ecstatic when I came across the Superdrug Naturally Radiant version at a fraction of the price. I studied the ingredients of both products and was surprised to see that they are very similar, in fact the first three ingredients are exactly the same. I was a little bit disappointed to discover that the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Acid Pads contained perfume, but then so do the Nip+Fab ones. So what on earth is the extra £10 being spent on to buy the ‘premium’ version. Your guess is as good as mine because from what I can establish they both host some pretty good ingredients and I’d probably sway more towards the Superdrug ingredients list than Nip+Fab, since it’s packed full of natural fruit acids.
I have used one of the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Acid Pads every day for 2 months straight and I must say that the results have been astounding. I suffer with mild (but annoying) cystic acne and products cause me to break out very easily but these have helped to clear my skin which is now in the best condition it has been for a long long time. I swipe one across my face every morning to remove any excess product from the night before and they leave my face fresh as a daisy and ready to apply makeup. Literally as soon as I’ve used it my skin feels clean, pores are diminished and it appears bright and ready for the day. I’ve noticed that the scarring on my face has reduced, the texture of my skin is much smoother and I am over the moon with the results that these budget Glycolic Acid Pads have given me. I am already restocked and can’t imagine ever being without them in my skin care routine. And as for Nip+Fab….. no thank you.
Top Tip: Store the tub upside down so that the moisture retains in the top pads ready for use. But do flip it back round every now and then.
Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Toner
The Claims: “Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic is formulated with a unique energising complex and infused with Kiwi Fruit and Mulberry extracts to help revive skin’s radiance and even out skin tone. Highly concentrated in Glycolic Acid, a powerful Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), the refreshing tonic also refines pores, retexturises the skin’s surface and smoothes fine lines, providing a brighter, healthier and more youthful complexion.”
The Facts: I picked the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Toner up as an alternative to the Glycolic pads when they were out of stock. This product is more comparable to the Pixi Glow Tonic – hosting the same percentage of 5% Glycolic acid. The ingredients are similar to the Glycolic Acid cleansing Pads in that they contain glycolic acid and fruit acids to exfoliate the skins surface. However, I would say that the Glycolic Toner also contains some more hydrating ingredients such as Allantoin. Now personally, I don’t feel as strongly about the Glycolic Toner as I do about the Glycolic Cleansing Pads. I find that the toner leaves my face feeling a little bit sticky as a pose to the clean and fresh feeling that the pads give. Having said that, I didn’t give it much of a chance because I re-purchased the cleansing pads as soon as they came back into stock in my local Superdrug and began using those again. I will give this product another go, or maybe alternate between the two different products and see how I feel doing that. What I will say, is that if you’re looking at buying a Glycolic Acid Toner, then this is by far the cheapest on the market so I would 100% give this a try. Some even prefer it to the Pixi Glow Tonic.
Top Tip: Apply sparingly to a cotton wool pad to avoid the sticky feeling this product can leave. There is no need to use a lot of product and you can always add more if you feel that it’s needed.
I think it’s safe to say that Superdrug have seriously upped their game with their branded skincare products in the Naturally Radiant range. They are competing with some top brands such as Nip+Fab and Pixi and seem to be succeeding. The Glycolic Acid Cleansing pads are definitely my favourite product from the range so far. I will also continue to use the bargain eye cream as it’s really upping my concealer game and hydrating my previously neglected under eyes. I’m really eager to try some more of the Naturally Radiant range at Superdrug, especially since they have the whole collection on Buy one get one free at the moment. I think the next product on my list to try might be the Glycolic overnight peel or the Brightening micro polish.
Please let me know if you have any favourites from the Superdrug Naturally Radiant collection because I’m eager to put them to the test.
